Comments:
It has been said by those who would know in Leach's office that if the mailings would not stop that Leach would not caucus with the R's.

There's a difference between not caucusing with the GOP and switching parties. I'd have loved to be in on that conversation though.

Leach is a classy guy. Didn't always agree with him, but you always knew where he stood on the issues.

Congressman Ron Paul is - along with Jim Leach - one of the few independent-minded Republicans that originally opposed the Irag War Resolution of 2002.

I feel Jim Leach will make an excellent US ambassador - or other appointment - in the Ron Paul administration.

And for the record - to any other Mitt Romney supporters - see the link below.

Romney is way too liberal with gay rights activism in Massachusetts and his support of the abortion pill RU-486 for my favor. I wouldn't expect him to appeal to other Iowa Republicans, even if he hasn't dropped out of the race by the August 11 straw poll.

We agree - Iowa and other states' farming interests need to be well represented in the trade agreements of the Federal government.

Having Jim Leach certainly is a once in a lifetime experience if you are lucky. If you are unlucky they get elected again.
